long studies in law, economics and political science, business school and four years as Attaché in a business bank, Dominique Paramythiotis opens an antiques gallery in the Palais-Royal gardens in Paris. He, very soon, and first in Paris, specializes in table ware of “Grand mothers wall cupboard”. What turns out to be a great success.
he goes on with his oil on canvas painting passion, being ordered many portraits of relatives and celebrities (Charles Oulmont, Ibu Poilậne…) After what, he thinks of mixing these two talents in the creation, in 1984, of the Manufacture du Palais-Royal, devoted to hand painted, custom made, table ware. Techniques of the old time, such as agate polish, gold leaf gilding, fake marble and wood, “trompe l’oeil” etc…are put back to contemporary taste.
Manufacture du Palais-Royal very soon enjoys some big names as clients: European Council, Service du Protocole du Palais de l'Elysée (F. Mitterand), Y. Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, Regina Edelmann, Princess Radziwill, Hermès family etc…
